TAV Airports Holding was awarded the tender for the operation of the Tunisia Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali Airport and Monastir Airport, in Tunisia, and adds one more airport projects in the abroad. The operation of both airports will be carried out by TAV Airports Holding for 40 years.

TAV Airports Holding, a regional brand in airport operations, as well as a global company in terms of its business, now has a further accomplishment, with the tenders of the Tunisia Enfidha and Tunisia Monastir Airports in April 2007. According to the Specification of the Bid, TAV Airports Holding will undertake the operation of Tunisia Monastir Airport in January 2008, and the operation of the Tunisia Enfidha Airport during the first half of 2009. The operation of both airports will be carried out by TAV Airports Holding for 40 years.

The investment cost of the of the operation projects for two airports is around 400 million Euros. With the airports operations in Tunisia, known as the country with the most consistent economy in Africa, TAV Airports Holding has actualised 6 of the “10 Airports in 10 Years" goal.

The investment is expected to be completed during the first half of 2009, with which the annual passenger capacity of Tunisia Enfidha Airport will increase to 7,000,000. Throughout the operation period, four stages of activities will be undertaken, to increase this figure to 22,000,000. The airport will be built on a total area of 4300 ha, and at the first stage, the area of the terminal building will be 90,000 m².

The Monastir Airport is at 60 km distance to the Enfidha Airport with a current passenger capacity of 3.5 million, although the number of international passengers served reaches 4.5 million per year.
